Hi there! A bunch of people have been asking my mom to help me update the blog with new pictures of Jack. You'd think I'd be really jealous that my baby brother is getting all of the attention, but I only pout every once in a while...
Anyway, my mom took us to get our pictures taken today, so I'll update the blog with those pictures in a little bit. In the meantime, why don't you check out this video. Momma and Daddy finally got to see what we do during the day when they drop us off over at Grandma Gerri and Grandpa John's house. He he he...

Baby Jack is 2 Weeks Old!
My little brother, Jackson, turned 2 weeks old yesterday, so I thought everyone might want an update on how everything is going.
First, let's talk about me. I'm remarkably well-adjusted and doing great.
Now we can talk about baby brother. Jack had his two-week follow up at the doctor's office yesterday and he weighed 10 lbs 3 oz and he was 22 inches long. Yowza! That's almost a pound a week! At this rate, he'll catch up with my svelte 30-pound physique in no time.
Here are some pictures of Jackson that Momma took today.
Since everyone's been paying baby brother so much attention for the last two weeks, I thought this would be the perfect time to debut a new trick. I thought Momma and Daddy would be so proud, but they seem to be freaking out... and when I look at Grandma Gerri, I just see sheer terror in her eyes. Check it out!

Introducing Baby Jackson
For the last 9 months (and one extra week), Mommy and Daddy have been telling me that there's a baby in Momma's belly. I was always like yeah, yeah, yeah... there's a baby in Momma's belly... whatever that means.
And then last Tuesday, July 27th at 12:25 p.m., that baby I've been hearing about forever finally made his way into the world. (I'm not sure how, but I guess I'll find out later in life.)
Here's me walking into the hospital room for the very first time after brother was born. (Don't you feel sorry for me with my sad, scared face?)
Then, when I got in there and saw the little guy who's been in Momma's belly, it wasn't all that bad. He was way littler than me, and sort of squirmier than me, but overall, pretty cute.
Drumroll please...........................
I, Madelyn Rose Ames, hereby announce the birth of my baby brother, Jackson Eric Ames, weighing in at 8 lbs 6 oz and 21 1/4 inches long.
Everyone at the hospital was commenting on how big he was. Some people even said he was going to be a linebacker when he gets older, and my dad called him his "meal ticket"... whatever that means.

Here's Daddy holding brother.
And here's brother sucking his thumb. Please excuse my mom's marshmellow man hands.
Everything was A-OK with baby Jack, so the hospital let us take him home. For some reason he doesn't look nearly as big in his car seat.
The first day we got him home, Mommy and Daddy let me hold him so I could get a good look at this kid. I have to say, I thought he was pretty neat.
I got to love on him, and kiss him, and even make fun of his squeeky little cry.
Tons of people have been asking Momma how I'm doing adjusting to the new baby. Don't worry about me. As long as Mommy and Daddy feel guilty about having a new baby and splitting there time between the two of us, I get special treats. And by "treats" I mean whole ice cream cones I get to eat without my shirt on. Whooo-hoooo!
By the way, I've posted more recent pictures of baby Jackson on the post called "More Baby Jackson Pictures." Check it out!

More Baby Jackson Pictures
Having a brother is pretty cool so far. Most of the time he stays asleep, wrapped up in his little blankies, and doesn't bother me or play with my toys.
Sometimes I even catch him smiling in his sleep. Mommy and Daddy think he's going to be a very happy baby like me. Grandma Gerri says he has the "happy gene."

I thought so too...
Until he got his first bath... yikes!!! For those of you who are super close with my family, ask my Grandpa John to show you the first bath video. You're in for a special surprise. I'll give you a one-word hint... "projectile."

Here are some pictures of him at one week old. He looks totally different to me than he did when he was born.
This little guy has a lot to learn. Now everyone knows I love to eat... noodles, chocolate, all fruits and veggies, and I've never met a cake I didn't like.... anyway, I could go on and on. But a fist??? Come on brother.

Overall, he's an OK dude...
Except for those toes. Thought you might want a looksie at 'em. They got sort of mangled in the womb, but they should straighten out over time. He he he.
