My New Discoveries

I've made some new discoveries lately that I thought were worth blogging about. For starters, I found my reflection in that little silver round thingy in the bathtub. I thought that gal looked kind of familiar... Hey Mom, I can see you too!Discovery #2: I found out how cool it is to ride in the "big girl" part of the shopping cart. (Oh, and I also discovered how tiny I look in a big cart inside a really big store.)Discovery #3: I found out that I can twist my legs a million different ways like an acrobat, and it doesn't even hurt. Grandma Gigi calls me a contortionist. (I don't know what that means, but I hope they get to watch Baby Einstein on repeat, never have to take naps, and drink an infinity amount of milk.) Discovery #4: I have really long eyelashes. OK, this isn't actually my discovery, but my parents and grandparents tell me this all the time, and my mom really wanted to show them off to everyone. With all of these new discoveries on a daily basis, my future is looking really bright man.... really bright!

Sock Fanatic

Some of you may have thought by the title of this blog entry that I was going to talk about being a White Sox fan like my dad... not hardly. I'm actually obsessed with socks lately. Yesterday, when me and my mom and dad ran errands, every time they got me out of the backseat, they found me with one sock off of my foot and in my mouth.

(P.S. Dad says I have my foam finger in the picture above.)
Add ImageAfter you're done watching the video below, please add a comment and let my mom know if you have a kid with a weird obsession like me. (This will make my mom feel better.)

By the way... you'll catch a glimpse of my new trick. I just learned how to clap. Yippee!!!

6 Month Pictures

I know it's a little late, considering that I turn 7 months old next week, but here are my 6 month pictures. Enjoy! By the way... I clapped for the first time this week. My mom wanted me to tell you that she'll try to get a video of it and help me post it on my blog soon!

My New "Tricks"

My Granddaddy Jimbo always calls and asks my mom if I've learned any new "tricks." You wanna see tricks? I'll show you some tricks Granddaddy...

I can sit up by myself in the big girl tub now...By the way, I took a bath with my mom for the first time too... but she said we couldn't take pictures of it for the blog. And I can sleep on my tummy now, too. Well, I've only done it once, but my mom and dad thought it was so cute that they stood at the door holding hands and watched me like two big goobers.

I know I mentioned that I like solid food on one of my last entries, but I thought you might like to know that I actually LOVE it now. Here's a video of me eating some bananas. Apparently I've learned a lot from my dog, Mikey, because when I'm ready for another bite, I pant like a little pup. He he he.

Maddy Turns 6 Months Old

I turned 6 months old today. Yipee!!! One of my mom's best friends, Ariel, came over to my house with her boyfriend, Jerry, and her nephew, Nick. Nick was born 4 days after me, so momma and Ariel thought it would be fun for us to have a play date.

We had the best time ever. Can't you tell?
My daddy says it looks like I swallowed Nick, because I outweigh him by a good 3 or 4 pounds.

Here's Momma and Ariel making mine and Nick's half birthday cakes.I know it's not gorgeous, but Mom tried really hard to make a perfect half cake for my half birthday.Good thing I stayed up long enough to see it. Just kidding. (Don't worry, this picture was supervised.) Here's Nick celebrating with his half cake. He's pretty much a party animal.

OK, so maybe we're still a little too small for play dates and wild parties.
There are a few milestones I reached in the days leading up to my 6 month birthday.
I can hold my own bottle now.

I slept in my own bed in my own room for the first time. (This is a bigger step for mommy than it is for me, but I'll put it on here anyway.)

And I love solid food now. I open my mouth really big and pant like a little puppy until my mom puts the spoon in. It's pretty cute.

My dog Mikey had a milestone this month, too. Mom and Dad let him stay out of the kennel in the new house for the first time. Here's a picture of what he did to our temporary blinds among other things.

Christmas photo shoot

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Christmas this year. It was my first one, and I have to say... Boxes and wrapping paper are waaaaay cooler than anything you could put inside the box.

Here are my 5 month pictures. I know they are a little late, but me and my mom have been super busy. Enjoy! P.s. Stick around for the last one. It's pretty funny.

uhhhh... can I get some help over here? Grandma? Aunt Becky? Picture lady? Anybody?

Christmas

I just had my very first Christmas, and man... it was FUN! I got to see snow for the first time, open presents for the first time, and I even had my first airplane ride on Christmas night. Here's a picture of me and my mom sitting in the snow for the first time in East Dubuque, Illinois. It looks like I'm making the "bitter beer face," but I was just really chilly. Here's one of my favorites - a 4 generation picture. This is my Great Grandma Rosella, Grandma Gigi, Daddy, and me. Aren't we cute? We took this one at the lake house in Wisconsin.

Here's me and two of my favorite people in the world - crazy Uncle Nee Nee and fun Aunt C Doggy. My mom loves pictures of my legs. Sorry... she made me include this one.

Here's a picture of me with Cole, Morgan, and Callie (I'm the one in the middle). They played with me the whole time we were in Illinois. I love them soooo much!

Christmas was really fun, but man oh man was it exhausting. Here's me and my dad at the airport in Chicago. I think this picture says it all.

Maddy Eats Solid Food

For those of you who haven't seen me in a while, here's a picture of my girlish figure. Check out these gams!
Everyone assumes that I love food because of my rotund physique...but here's how I feel about rice cereal. Yuuuuuuuuuck!I hate, hate, hate rice cereal. When my mom or Grandma Gerri try to feed it to me, I purse my lips together so that nothing gets in. I think I'll stay M.O. for as long as possible. (FYI... M.O. = milk only).
