Blooper Reel

I had my three month photo shoot today, and I decided that this time around I'd show you the photos that DIDN'T make the cut.

Give me a sec while I swallow my pride (and my hand). Here goes...

Don't lie, you know you think I look like a turtle in this picture.
Hey, what do you know... no more triangle toe nails. When did those grow in???

Hey mom... Back off!

WHHHHHAAAAAAAAA! Being this cute is so hard!

Huh??? Did you say milk? If not, I'm not interested.

Does anybody besides my mom think that my mouth sometimes looks like Garth's from Wayne's World???

Hey lady... do you mind counting next time? You're catching me mid-blink. Not cool man.

Stay tuned for the real pictures...

Big Week

I had a pretty big week last week. I know it must be very hard for you to believe that in all of these smiley pictures you've seen on my blog, no sounds have actually been coming out of my mouth. Well... stop the press! I figured out how to make my voice work, and I laughed for the first time last week! Wha ha ha ha! You know what else I did? I rolled over for the first time! Wha ha ha (that's not really funny, but I'm getting the hang of this laughing thing... he he)

Wait a sec... I know I'm mid-roll, but is it too late to grab that binky?

I've actually only rolled over for my Grandma Gerri and Aunt Becky. The picture below is as far as I go for Mom and Dad. I like to tease them by leaning over really far so that they start talking really fast and saying "oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh." Then, I lay back down on my stomach and fake them out. I think I'll drag this on a little while longer. It's pretty fun.

My dad thinks it's cute when I start acting like I'm going to roll over, because I spread my toes out really far (like it's giving me extra power). He gets really tickled, so I'm not going to tell him that I'm just stretching.

Anyway, it's been a very eventful week at the Ames household with all the laughing and rolling over. I know I'm kind of a big deal right now... but please - no pictures.

My Halloween Costume

I'm a little confused. I've been hearing so much about this "Halloween" day that's coming up. Apparently, kids dress up in really fun outfits and go door-to-door to get candy. It seems like a pretty fair trade off to me (especially if we're getting candy...FOR FREE)!

So can anyone tell me why I have to dress up in this silly outfit, but I don't get to have any candy? What a rip off! And when I say silly... I mean ridiculous.

Can you guess what I'm going to be by looking at this little teaser...
For those of you who guessed penguin... ding ding ding... you win the prize! And the prize is... you don't have to be seen by everyone in town in a plush penguin costume. Congratulations!
On a lighter note, I just grew into my first pair of "big girl pants." Look how cute I am... and isn't this a happier face?
Wouldn't it just be easier if I went trick-or-treating in this outfit??? I mean, in my defense, the penguin outfit doesn't even have pants. How humiliating.

Hello Again!

I have to apologize to all of my fans out there, because it's been a while since the last time I posted a new entry on my blog. In my defense, my mom went back to work and she hasn't had a lot of time to type my words as I dictate them to her.

Here's a picture of me and my mom on her first day back to work.
Now I stay at Grandma Gerri and Grandpa John's during the day. I love being over there, because they let me do things that my mom won't let me do... like have candy at 2 months old. Yes... this is a Twizzler. (I'm not even old enough to open the wrapper. Grandpa John gave this to me, so take it up with him.)I have so much fun all day long with my Grandma Gerri. I don't even care that she sometimes tries to stick my head through the tiny arm hole in my dress... because I just love her so much.Another new development in the last couple of weeks is... I found my fists! I know I look really dangerous with these tight fists and big arms, but I don't mean any harm.
I just like to suck on them, and then make weird faces because my hand doesn't taste as good as I thought it would...

And besides, who could be tough with a face like this???

My Cousins

The last couple of days I've gotten to hang out with my cousins, Lawson and Ava. I get to see Lawson a lot (because he lives in Arlington), but it has been extra special this week because my cousin Ava is in town from Austin.

I really love hanging out and playing with them, but when I was looking at my pictures, I noticed a very disturbing trend...

They ALWAYS pick on me. Now, I know you are thinking that they are just tiny babies, and there's no way they are old enough to know how to pick on me yet... but I have the evidence to prove it.

They bite me...
And stick their fingers in my mouth...And pick my nose... And worst of all, they make fun of my hair!!! Not cool!

Well, I heard somewhere that imitation is the highest form of flattery.
At least mine doesn't look like this...
Wha ha ha ha!

Labor Day Bash

I've been in the real world for over 7 weeks now, and my grandparents have never left town... until now! So I threw a big bash at their house for Labor Day, and all of my friends came. My mom was having too much fun to take pictures, but here is the aftermath. Draw your own conclusions...

And here is the biggest culprit. Don't let his innocent face fool you.

Maddy's Swing... and a New Milestone

So... my parents were moping around the house for weeks on end, because they spent a pretty penny on this fancy new swing, and every time they would put me in it I would cry and cry and cry.

Why didn't anyone tell me I look like a cute little teddy bear when I swing in it? That's all you had to do Mom and Dad. Now I love it!I even have a big, round, teddy bear belly. (That's not part of the swing. He he he.)
Everyone keeps saying something to me about my cheeks and hiding nuts in them, and then they always laugh. I have no idea what that means... but people sure do get a chuckle out of it.
So when my mom's not holding me, and I'm not swinging, I'm usually practicing laying on my tummy (it's called "tummy time"). I've always hated tummy time, because it's so hard, and no matter how much I grunt, people keep talking to me in really high pitched voices and trying to get me to lift my head off the ground...

And I finally did it! WHO-HOOOOOO! I love tummy time!

Maddy's First Baseball Game

Today was special for 2 reasons: it was my 7 week birthday, and it was my first time to go to a baseball game. Whoo-hooo! Here I am with my mom right when we got to the Grand Prairie Air Hogs game.
And then I guess the excitement was just too much...

You have to cut me some slack. I can only see about 18 inches from my face, so I would've missed the whole game anyway. Well... at least it looks like my dad was having a great time!
These pictures below have nothing to do with the baseball game. My mom propped me up on the couch the day before and took some pictures. She thought they were cute, so I put them on here.

Visit to Memaw's

Last week, me and my mom went to visit Memaw and Granddaddy. They are my mom's mom's parents. Whew... that's a mouthful! I was so happy when I got there, because my cousin Lawson was there, and we got to play.

Well, I heard this funny joke that my dad tells ALL THE TIME, and I think it's really funny. Here's a picture of me telling it to Lawson. "So... what did the boy melon say to the girl melon when she wanted to run away and get married?"

"We're too young, we can't elope. Get it... canteloupe??? Wha ha ha ha ha!"

And here's a picture of his reaction. I guess he didn't think it was very funny. I'm so shocked. That joke is a big hit at my house.
If you look closely, you can even see Lawson's mom, Ashleigh, having to hold him back. Thanks Ash!
And here are some pictures of me getting him back for not thinking my dad's joke is very funny. My dad is hilarious... and don't you forget it pal!

Just kidding. Most of the time that I was playing with Lawson, we were just laying on the floor holding hands...

And having a great time!

I especially love going to Memaw's, because at the end of the day, I know I have a good place to take a nap. Ahhhh...that's better.
