Maddy's First B-Day Pictures

Hi everyone! I thought I'd do something a little different this time, because I have so many pictures to share, and I wanted to include them all. So please scroll down to the next blog entry to see a slideshow of pictures from my 1st birthday. I know what you're thinking... and yes, I'm very technologically advanced for a 1 year old. Enjoy!!!

My One Year Pics

I know that Maddy normally writes this blog, but today, I thought I'd give it a shot. I wanted to take a moment to let her know just how much Eric and I love her, and maybe one day when she's old enough to read (if blogs aren't ancient and obsolete by then) she can read this and know how much we love her.

Maddy...
You are the most beautiful miracle in our lives, the greatest joy we can ever know, and one of the reasons why there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness in the world. We love you so much, and can’t believe we made perfect little you. Happy 1st Birthday!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

OK... now on with the good stuff. Here are Maddy's 1st birthday pics. Hope you enjoy... especially the blooper reel at the bottom!

Now that you've seen the really cute ones and think that Maddy is the most photogenic girl you've ever seen, you should probably know that for every one great picture, there are at least 10 that don't make the cut. Enough said... here are THE OUTTAKES:
Here's Maddy huffing and puffing about having to eat cake. Does anyone know who this girl is and what she did with my daughter? Here's when she realizes that we're really going to make her do it... Here's her eating the cake. Despite the look on her face here, she actually enjoyed it for a little bit. Then, she was so over it.
And apparently got really full... and defeated...And here's my absolute favorite. I have no idea why she made this face, but it's hilarious! Eeeewwwwwww!

God Bless America

Happy Monday morning everyone!!!

This is going to be a pretty short blog, because I'm really sleepy from all of the swimming, and eating, and fireworks-watching, and celebrating this weekend. I just wanted to give everyone something they could enjoy on a yucky Monday after a holiday weekend.

I hope you enjoy this video... but before you watch it, I'll leave you with this thought...

Where else could an almost one-year-old girl stand in her living room with only a t-shirt and a diaper, with her hair in a sweet mohawk, shaking her little booty to an awesome song about how much we love water??? Where I ask you? Nowhere.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Now you can enjoy this video of my new "big girl" dance... Happy Monday!

My New Fascination

OK, you know how they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure?" Well, I wonder if my parents ever heard this gem of a quote? Apparently not, because they were trying to get rid of my old car seat!!! Do they not know how many hours of fun and enjoyment this could provide a tiny little gal like me? Do they not know how fascinated I am with things that buckle and snap? Do they not know that this car seat is my ONE TRUE LOVE?!?!

(OK... I know I used to scream and cry when they would buckle me in, pull the straps extra tight, and then haul me around... but that's beside the point.) Now that I have a newer, bigger, better, sleeker model that actually fits a lady with my physique... I LOVE MY OLD ONE.

Just look how happy we are together...

Here's me just kicking my feet up and chillin' with my buddy (the car seat)...

Here's me looking cute in my new halter top... while sitting in my old car seat...

Here's me drinking my bottle and wishing that I could sleep in my old car seat instead of my stupid old crib... (cribs are so lame)...
And here's me and my car seat watching my favorite DVD (Baby Einstein) ...
Sometimes I even invite people to sit in my car seat with me...One day I know me and my old car seat will have to part, so I'm making a conscious effort to give other seats a try. Here's me trying to figure out the cool, new chair that Grandma Gigi bought me. It's pretty awesome! (Check out how fast I can walk now, too!)

10 Month Update

This blog is a special tribute to Mrs. Debbie Ulatoski:

Debbie, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for telling my mom (no fewer than 6 or 8 times in a row) that she hasn't helped me update my blog since May 16th, May 16th, May 16th... you get the point. I think your repetition really worked. Don't worry... she didn't take it personally, because you ended your sentence by calling her "tootsie"... which really softened the blow.

Anyway, my mom wanted me to tell everyone that sometimes she takes for granted that she gets to see me all the time. She will try to remember that not everyone else does, and that it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that she help me update my blog so that everyone else gets to see me too. So, thank you for the gentle, yet stern reminder, Debbie. Thank you!

Now, I shall proceed with my blog...

My mom thought I could get away with calling this my "10 month update" today - just in the nick of time since I turn 11 months old tomorrow. Oops! Since I haven't blogged in a while, I thought I would clue everyone in on what I've been up to.

I'm really working hard at this walking thing. I mean... standing is hard enough. Most of the time I start like this...
And end up like this...

Or I start like this...

And end up like this...

I'm telling you man, it's tough! But I'm getting the hang of it pretty quickly. You know who it's really tough for? Grandma Gerri. Poor, poor Grandma Gerri. I don't stop moving all day, and everywhere I go in the house - I leave a path of destruction. I don't have to explain that though, just look at this picture... Aaahhhh!

Anyway... I know what you are thinking: blah, blah, blah, Maddy... just show me the stinkin' video! Well, folks... here you go. Without further ado, here is the video of me taking some steps. Enjoy!

By the way, please disregard the conversation in the background. My weird family was getting excited about carpooling to Sonic for free root beer float night. LAME!

First Steps

I always thought it would be a while before I would ever be able to walk, because my feet are too tiny.... and by "too tiny" I mean that I'm 10 months old and still barely fit into a size 3 shoe. Yikes!

I know that one day I'll love my tiny feet, but right now... I kind of need them to help hold up my body (which is still in the 95th percentile for weight).

Well... I defied all odds this week by taking my first steps on my teeny weeny feet. YIPEEEE!

I was sitting on the floor with Mom, Dad, and Grandma Sher Sher, and all of a sudden I just took a step. I fell right on my rear end because they were screaming and clapping so loud that it scared me. As soon as I pulled myself together, I tried it again and took THREE steps.

My mom tried to get a video, but this is all she could get. This video doesn't show how awesome my steps are - it just shows me picking up my feet two times. You'll get the idea though.

Yay me!!!

Maddy Brushes Her Teeth

OK... so here's something new. Dad went to the store and brought home what I thought was a spoon. I got really excited because I thought I was going to get to eat (which is clearly one of my favorite things to do). The only thing is that it didn't have the little scoop part on the end... it had these hard little strings. And instead of putting food on the end... you put this other stuff that comes out of a tube.

Apparently this is called brushing your teeth. I had no idea what I was doing, but it was pretty cool.
Mom and Dad took turns brushing my teeth, and they were laughing the whole time. I kept trying to lick the toothpaste because it tasted so good. Look at me... do I look like a girl who likes to joke about food?

I was doing pretty good until...

I noticed myself in the mirror and fell in love.

Brushing your teeth for the first time is a pretty big deal, so I think you should dance along with me while I do my HAPPY DANCE!

Maddy Gets a New Wagon!

My grandparents bought me a wagon for Christmas last year, and me and my dad put it together a couple of weeks ago.

I'm not big enough to use tools yet, so he let me be the supervisor.I checked to make sure the wheels looked good. And that the breaks worked. Whaaaaa!I even stopped to read the directions when we got a little lost...and gave my dad a reassuring head pat to let him know it would be OK.It was finally time to debut my wagon in the neigborhood. My freakishly small feet don't touch the ground... weeeeeee! There's nothing like a nice wagon ride in your pajamas after a hard day's work...
